U.S. Navy Body Fat Estimator
This calculator uses the U.S. Navy body fat estimation method, which relies on circumference measurements. For men, it uses waist and neck measurements. For women, it also includes hip measurement. The method was developed by the U.S. Department of Defense and is widely used as a field-tested estimation tool.
How to Measure
- Waist (men): Measure at the navel (belly button), at the narrowest point.
- Waist (women): Measure at the narrowest point, typically above the navel.
- Neck: Measure just below the larynx (Adam's apple), with the tape sloping slightly downward at the front.
- Hip (women): Measure at the widest point of the hips/buttocks.
